最近使用ubuntu 18.04，依照你1樓文章的步驟安裝好gcin，可以正常輸入中文了，

但使用TextEditor有點問題，TextEditor的背景變成紅色的ubuntu桌面顏色，不是正常的白色，不曉得怎麼辦呢？

1.ubuntu是18.04.1從官網下載的(ubuntu-18.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso)。

我覺得可能與主題顏色有關，試試選別的主題。

我是用 xfce，內定顏色 沒這個問題。

在Ubuntu 18.04裡裝好gcin後大易輸入法叫不出來.... 注音輸入及符號輸入卻是OK的（我只有選這三種輸入法）

gcin的版本是2.8.5+dfsg1-4build4

我是現在才知道Ubuntu裡面的gcin沒有大易。

感謝兩位熱心回覆!! 我後來是直接用eliu版大的方式安裝，裝完之後就一切正常了! (現在就是在Ubuntu 18.04下用gcin大易輸入法打字的)

看來是Ubuntu Software裡的gcin無法使用大易，而且麻煩的是一旦裝了這個2.8.5+dfsg1-4版之後，如果沒有事先完整移除就無法安裝2.8.6+eliu-4(安裝一半會出現錯誤訊息)

目前剛安裝 Ubuntu 18.04

之前裝了 Ubuntu software 上的 gcin ，再重新登入好多次都無法輸入中文，後來用了劉大的方法，今天重開機後就可以輸入中文了！
但可能沒有完全移除舊版，用 apt-get install gcin 都一直出現

登出登入，我目前觀察到，在「gdm3」好像不是如原本預期的，在「im-config」設定的相關環境變數，並沒有重新設定，

所以安裝完「gcin」，請重開機。

在另一篇「討論」下方，我有列兩個參考指令，可以確認

感謝大大，我目前試驗的結果，用 grep 抓出來的套件名稱直接做 apt-get purge 可能會讓它接到「gcin-gtk2-immodule:amd64」這個名字，它移除不掉
似乎也造成，我想要再安裝什麼套件都會一直被卡著

我就乖乖地用 dpkg -l | grep gcin 查出gcin
打 sudo apt-get purge gcin gcin-data gcin-gtk2-immodule gcin-gtk3-immodule gcin-im-client gcin-qt4-immodule gcin-tables  (用 tab 自行補齊套件名)
就真正乾淨地移除完成，重新開機後，確定有在 update-manager 設定好，再用 sudo apt-get install gcin
再次重新開機後就一切正常

我先創造一些例外狀況，測試上面的指令，應該是可以正常移除。

我這兒也有遇到完全一樣的問題(Ubuntu 18.04 LTS)，我試過在未安裝gcin之前Text Editor是正常的，但一裝好gcin之後就會變成這樣，而且連打英文都會有問題...

好像是Ubuntu 18.04的bug，在這兒也有看到類似的問題:

I successfully installed gcin about 3 months ago. However, one day gcin broke.( I don't know why and did not save a screenshot)

Anyway, I tried to remove gcin, and get the gcin installed back again. Nonetheless, I got the error message:

:~$ sudo apt-get install gcin

Plus, everytime I tried to update my ubuntu, another error message occured due to gcin.

The package system is broken

Check if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them, since they are a common source of problems.
Furthermore run the following command in a Terminal: apt-get install -f
Transaction failed: The package system is broken

I am now trying the method suggested by samwhelp, but still face a problem that being unable to find /etc/apt/sources.list.d/gcin.list

sudo apt-get update

所以才會出現 「404  Not Found」。

延續「#238」一開始提到的

剛剛測試了一下，使用「software-properties-gtk」來加入「deb http://hyperrate.com/gcin-ubuntu1804 eliu release」，

會直接附加在「/etc/apt/sources.list」裏面

執行下面指令，就可以找到

再不然就要找找「/etc/apt/sources.list」裡面的內容，找看看有沒有「deb http://hyperrate.com/gcin-ubuntu1804 eliu release」這一行，
若有就在那一行前面加入「#」，就是註解了，也就是「#deb http://hyperrate.com/gcin-ubuntu1804 eliu release」這一行。

And, I found out my /etc/apt/sources.list suits the case below.

52:deb http://hyperrate.com/gcin-ubuntu1804 eliu release
53:# deb-src http://hyperrate.com/gcin-ubuntu1804 eliu release

I am wondering how I could add a "#" before deb http://hyperrate.com/gcin-ubuntu1804 eliu release.
